Pablo Andino

artsy-icon

Pablo Andino (EC, 1990) is a visual artist working from the language of sculpture. He is currently living and working in Quito, Ecuador.

His work is motivated by the design and understanding of the surfaces and skins that surround him. The surface takes the form of containers or containers as in his earliest work. Or also - as in his most recent work - he takes an animistic character to speak of life, death, consumption and waste.

Andino received a BFA in Sculpture from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) and also a technology from the Technological Institute of Arts of Ecuador (ITAE). His work has been exhibited in different spaces such as Sullivan Galleries (Chicago), Jacket Contemporary (Chicago) at the Arsenale in Venice, at the Anthropological and Contemporary Art Museum (MAAC Guayaquil), at Proyecto NASA (L) (Guayaquil), at GalerĂa NoLugar (Quito) among others. He was part of the HATCH residency invited by Chicago Artists Coallition (2016) and Sculpture Space, NY (2020). His last solo exhibition "Doblar el humo" was presented at Proyecto NASA (L) (Guayaquil) in 2021.
