N.A.S.A.L. is pleased to present El Principio de la Diferencia by Luis Enrique Zela-Koort for its debut participation in ARCOmadrid.
Luis Enrique Zela-Koort (1994) is an artist and researcher observing technological responses to biases that would otherwise be cataloged as objective truth; analyzing the ideological instrumentalization of science, mythology, and identity.
El Principio de la Diferencia presents visual and sculptural, embodied narratives that speak of Difference—or Diversity—as fundamental forces. Delving into Zela’s research into “Queer Metaphysics,” the works conjure new potentials for the body and desire across time and space: organic landscapes of silicone sphincters, kinetic latex sculptures, and glass pieces containing a synthesis of the primordial soup, the hypothetical substance from which life on Earth originated. Showing living beings in constant transformation and emphasizing the endless potential of Life, the project imagines worlds where all living forms can coexist and co-create their reality, displacing the viral logic of modern desire in favor of relations built through interconnection and symbiosis.
